Enquire nowRenew your CCNSG card before it expires
If your CCNSG Safety Passport is coming up for renewal, do not wait until the last few days. The CCNSG Site Safety Passport Renewal Course is for people who already have a valid card and need to keep it active.
This is a 1-day refresher course. It is not for first-time applicants, and it is not normally the right route if your card has already expired.
That expiry date is the part that matters most. If your card is still in date, renewal may be possible. If the date has passed, you will usually need to look at the full 2-day CCNSG National Course instead.
Not sure which one applies? Check the date on your card first. Then send it to us with your location and we can help you work out the next step.

Some people call this a CCNSG refresher course. Others ask for CCNSG card renewal or Safety Passport renewal. The name is less important than the card date. If the card is valid, this may be the course. If it has expired, check before booking.
This course is mainly for workers who already hold a CCNSG card and need to renew it before it runs out.
It may suit you if your card is still valid, your expiry date is approaching, and your employer has asked you to keep your Safety Passport up to date.
It is also a common option for people who prefer classroom-based renewal rather than the online route. Some candidates simply want a proper refresher before going back onto site, especially if they have not taken safety training for a while.
Where people get caught out is timing. A card that expires before the course date can change everything. If you are close to the expiry date, check availability early.
If the expiry date has already passed, do not book the 1-day renewal course without checking first.
In most cases, an expired CCNSG card means the renewal route is no longer available. You will normally need the CCNSG Site Safety Passport National Course, which runs over 2 days.
This mistake happens a lot. Someone is told to “renew CCNSG”, but the card has already expired by the time they try to book. That can delay access to site, especially when a start date is already arranged.
Send us the expiry date if you are unsure. We can help you check whether renewal is still possible or whether the National Course is the safer route.
There is more than one way to renew a valid CCNSG card.
The 1-day Renewal Course is the classroom-based refresher. It gives you tutor-led training and a review of the main safety topics before your card is renewed.
The CCNSG Online Renewal is shorter and may suit eligible card holders who are confident with the safety content. It is not the same as the National Course, and it is not the right choice for everyone.
A simple check usually helps:
If the answer is not clear, ask before booking. It is easier to check now than to correct the wrong booking later.
What the refresher covers
The renewal course is there to bring your site safety knowledge back up to date. It does not start from zero, because candidates should already hold a CCNSG Safety Passport.
The course may revisit areas such as site responsibilities, hazard awareness, safe systems of work, permits, working at height, confined spaces, PPE, fire safety, environmental awareness and accident reporting.
The point is practical. You are renewing a safety passport used on engineering construction, maintenance, shutdown and industrial sites, so the course focuses on the kind of safety knowledge expected in those environments.
There is an assessment as part of the renewal course.
After successful completion, your CCNSG Safety Passport is normally renewed for another 3 years. Once you receive the renewed card, make a note of the new expiry date. It is much easier to plan renewal early than to realise later that the card has already run out.
Before booking
Before you arrange the course, check three things.
First, check the expiry date on your card. Second, check what your employer or site has asked for. Third, decide whether you need the classroom renewal course or whether online renewal might be suitable.
If you are booking for a company, collect the expiry dates for all candidates first. One expired card can mean one person needs the National Course while the rest can still renew.
You may also need to provide ID, card details or other joining information before the course. Check your joining instructions when your booking is confirmed.
Looking for a CCNSG renewal near me usually means you need a course that fits your location and expiry date.
CPTS can help you check nearby renewal options, course dates and availability. The main thing is to make sure you are booking the 1-day CCNSG Renewal Course, not the 2-day National Course, unless your card has already expired.
Tell us where you are based, when the card expires and how soon you need the training. If there is a site start date involved, mention that as well.
CCNSG Renewal Course price
The CCNSG Renewal Course price can vary by location, date and number of candidates.
It is also different from the cost of the 2-day National Course or the shorter online renewal option. When you ask for a price, include your expiry date as well as your preferred location. That way we can check the correct renewal route, not just the nearest date.
For company bookings, send the number of delegates and any expiry dates you already have. This helps avoid booking everyone onto the same course when one or more cards may need a different route.
