FAQ – Confined Space Rescue Level 3 – Emergency Rescue from Confined Spaces Training

What’s this course for, in plain terms?

It’s for when things go badly wrong in a tight spot – someone’s down, and you’ve got to get them out fast and safely. That’s what this course is all about. No theory fluff, just real rescue skills for real-life situations.

I’m not part of a rescue team – should I still do it?

If you’re the person in charge when people are working in confined spaces – yes. Even if you’re not doing the rescue yourself, knowing what’s supposed to happen can be the difference between chaos and a plan.

Do I legally have to do this training?

Not always – but if you’re expected to deal with confined space emergencies, it’s not optional. The law expects competence. If something happens and you’re not trained, it’s on you. This course gets you covered.

Will I be using proper gear, or is it just talk?

You’ll be hands-on. Tripods, harnesses, BA sets, gas monitors, the works. And it’s not just gear for gear’s sake – you’ll learn how to actually use it under pressure, with people depending on you.

How long am I in training?

Two days. It’s busy, practical, and by the end of it, you’ll have gone through enough real-world drills to know you’re ready.

Where do you run it?

We’re based in the East Midlands, but we’re on the road a lot. Got a team in Scotland? Wales? London? We’ll come to you. Or you can come to us – whatever suits.

What do I walk away with?

You’ll leave with a recognised Level 3 certificate in confined space rescue. More than that, you’ll leave with the confidence to lead when it counts.

How often do I need to retake it?

Every 1 to 3 years, depending on your company’s policy and the kind of work you’re doing. If you’re doing this stuff regularly, it’s worth keeping it fresh.
