Level 2 High-Risk Confined Spaces Course

Level 2 High Risk Confined Space Training – UK Certified Course

Some work takes you into places where most people wouldn’t set foot – underground tanks, deep pits, tight access spaces with poor airflow. When it comes to high-risk confined space work, there’s no room for “I think it’s fine.”

Our Level 2 Award in Working in High Risk Confined Spaces helps you work smarter and safer. Over three days, you’ll build real skills, get hands-on with the gear, and learn what to do when things go wrong – before they do.

Who should take this course?

It’s aimed at people who:

  • Enter or work around high-risk confined spaces
  • Use breathing apparatus or safety gear on site
  • Are expected to respond in emergencies
  • Need a recognised qualification to stay compliant

Typical attendees include site operatives, maintenance crews, supervisors and contractors – especially in construction, water, and industrial sectors.

FAQ – Level 2 High Risk Confined Space Training

Do I need Level 1 before doing this course?

Not necessarily. If you already work around confined spaces and this course matches your role, you’re good to go. Still unsure? Just give us a ring and we’ll help you choose the right one.

What makes a confined space “high risk”?

It’s usually to do with what could go wrong – gas, flooding, poor air, limited exits. If you’d need breathing gear or a rescue plan just to get in safely, it’s probably high risk.

Will I use proper kit during the course?

Yes – this isn’t a theory-only setup. You’ll wear breathing apparatus, use gas monitors, harnesses, and other kit you’d expect to see on site.

Is this suitable if I supervise others?

Yes – if you’re also going in. If your job is just managing the entry and staying outside, you might be better on the Top Person course. We can point you to the right one.

How long is the course and what do I get?

Three days. When you finish, you’ll have a Level 2 Award in High Risk Confined Spaces – recognised across the UK as proof you’ve had proper training.

Does the certificate run out?

There’s no fixed expiry, but most companies ask for a refresher every couple of years. We offer shorter top-up courses too.

Can we get this delivered on-site?

Yes. If you’ve got the space and a group ready, we can come to you anywhere in the UK. If not, you’re welcome to train with us in the East Midlands.
