Enquire nowWellingborough is a town in central England, where our company, CPTS LTD, has its headquarters. We are a professional training centre offering a wide range of training courses in machine operation and construction, including confined space training. Wellingborough is not the largest town in Northamptonshire, but it is growing rapidly and there are many different installations and drainage systems here that require special knowledge and skills to work on. This is what makes courses on working in confined spaces increasingly important and popular.
Firstly, if you live in Wellingborough or the surrounding area, our training centre is very close by. Convenience and ease of access are just one of the arguments for our customers. Another very important aspect is the highest quality of our confined space courses and training. Our trainers are excellent at imparting knowledge and explaining all practical issues. In addition, everything always takes place in a pleasant, even friendly atmosphere. This is what makes our customers happy and keeps them coming back.

Working in confined spaces may seem ‘harmless’ on paper. In reality, you enter a tank, manhole, sewer, chamber, tunnel or cramped technical room and suddenly feel that everything is different: the air is heavier, movement is restricted, the exit is far away, and stress levels rise faster than the noise level on a construction site.
And now I’ll say it straight: confined space training in Wellingborough is not a course for people who like training. It is training for people who want to work safely and return home in one piece.
At Construction and Plant Training Services, we run confined spaces courses in Wellingborough that prepare you to work in confined spaces in accordance with British requirements. We teach specifically, practically and without pretending that ‘it will be fine’.
If your job requires you to enter a confined space, you must have a ticket, knowledge and procedures. This is not a subject for improvisation.
Because a confined space is a place where risks can ‘pop up’ without warning. In open terrain, you have oxygen, space, easy evacuation and faster assistance. In a confined space, everything is more difficult.
The most common hazards when working in confined spaces are:
It is worth noting that in the UK, training and procedures are not a ‘fad’. They are the result of regulations designed to protect people, including:
These are real legal frameworks. And yes, inspections and audits can be ruthless. But more importantly, mistakes in confined spaces usually do not end with fear alone.

This training is for you if:
You do not need to be a professional rescuer. It is enough that you work in places where someone may get stuck, faint or lose contact with the team.
It’s not about knowing the definitions by heart. It’s about being able to act calmly and logically under stress.
During the course, you will learn, among other things:
You will learn how to recognise the risks associated with:
If you cannot assess the atmosphere and the risks, you are going in blind. And that is the worst possible scenario.
Practise entering and exiting confined spaces correctly using equipment such as:
The worst thing about confined spaces is that people often ‘do it as usual’. And that’s where problems start.
Depending on the level of the course, you will learn how the following work:
This is the foundation of teamwork. Because in confined spaces, it is not the ‘bravest’ who wins. The winner is the one who works methodically.
In medium and high risk courses, you will learn about:
In practice: you learn how to rescue, but at the same time how not to become a second victim.

The choice of training depends on the conditions in which you work. Different requirements apply to simple entries and to toxic atmospheres and working with breathing apparatus.
For low-risk work: basics, entry/exit procedures, equipment, emergency response.
Certificate usually valid for 3 years.
For medium-risk work: atmosphere monitoring, ventilation, team roles, supervision and evacuation procedures.
Certificate usually valid for 3 years.
For persons who enter and simultaneously control entry, permit-to-work and equipment.
For external supervision: top person responsibilities, documentation, team control and management.
For high-risk work: advanced atmosphere monitoring, BA (breathing apparatus) procedures, evacuation and rescue.
For rescue teams and persons responsible for extracting the victim and coordinating the operation.
Highly practical training in rapid response and safe extraction in emergency situations.
