CPCS Training's PAL card course covers all the essential theory and practical skills needed to operate these pieces of equipment, including how to carry out pre-use inspections, set up and use the equipment safely, and recognise and respond to potential hazards.

Mobile Elevating Work Platforms, or MEWPs, are specialized pieces of equipment used to provide workers with access to elevated work areas. MEWPs come in a variety of shapes and sizes, and can be either self-propelled or man-powered. Some common types of MEWPs include scissor lifts, boom lifts, and cherry pickers.

MEWPs can be found in a wide range of industries and applications. They are commonly used in construction and maintenance operations, as well as in many manufacturing and warehousing settings. MEWPs offer a safe and efficient way to complete tasks that would otherwise be difficult or dangerous to accomplish without them.

Mast climbing work platforms, or MCWPs, are a type of temporary scaffolding used to provide access for workers to carry out tasks at height. MCWPs typically consist of a metal frame supported by four legs, which is attached to the side of a building or structure using brackets. A platform is then suspended from the frame, allowing workers to stand on it while they carry out their work.

Climbing hoists are mechanical devices that are used to raise and lower people and materials in construction and other industrial applications. They typically consist of a motor, cable, and pulley system that is mounted on a mast or frame. Climbing hoists can be used for a variety of tasks, including lifting workers to safety in an emergency, transporting materials up and down the side of a building, and moving heavy equipment between floors.
