First Aid for Baby and Child Course

Emergencies involving children are frightening, but with the right knowledge, you’ll know how to react. Our First Aid for Baby and Child Course gives parents, carers and anyone working with children the tools to stay calm and act quickly.

This course is taught in plain English, with real examples and practical learning. It’s hands-on, informal and taught by people who’ve worked in real emergency care.

We don’t just show slides. You’ll practise skills and work through real-life scenarios. Everything is based on UK first aid guidance, with a focus on babies and small children.

What you’ll learn on First Aid for Baby and Child Course

  • What to do if a child is unresponsive or stops breathing
  • How to give baby and child CPR
  • Using an AED (defibrillator)
  • How to help with choking, burns, bleeding and minor injuries
  • Spotting signs of meningitis, febrile seizures and allergic reactions
  • Recovery positions and safe responses for emergencies

All skills are practised in class, with support from the instructor.

First Aid for Baby and Child Course format, price and certificate

This is a one-day course (9:30–16:30). After passing, you’ll receive a paediatric first aid certificate valid for three years. The course meets OFSTED and EYFS standards, and is suitable for both childcare providers and home carers.

Prices are kept affordable. You can also book a private group course for schools or parent groups.
