Is the SMSTS course fully online or do I have to attend a classroom?
It’s fully online. All five days are delivered live over Zoom by one of our instructors. You join from home, work, or wherever you’re comfortable, as long as your internet connection is decent.

It’s mainly for site managers, project managers, supervisors — anyone who’s responsible for site safety. If you’re stepping up into a management role, it’s a great way to make sure you’re doing things properly from day one.
Is this the same qualification as the in-person SMSTS course?
Yes, 100%. Same CITB certification, same syllabus — the only difference is you’re not in a classroom. The training is still live and interactive, just online.
How long is the SMSTS – Site Management Safety Training Scheme Online Course?
It runs over five days. Some courses are five consecutive days, others are split across two weeks. We’ve got a few different formats depending on what suits your schedule best.
What topics are covered during the training?

What if I don’t pass the exam?
Most people do pass, especially if they’ve attended all sessions and stayed engaged. But if you don’t, there are usually options to resit the exam. Just speak to our team and we’ll guide you.
What do I need to take part in the SMSTS – Site Management Safety Training Scheme Online Course?
You’ll need a laptop or tablet with a webcam and mic, the GE700 manual (digital or print), and a stable internet connection. Oh, and you’ll need to be comfortable following the course in English.
