Capacitate cubică

Capacitate cubică

Capacitate cubică means the total volume of a building or structure measured from the outside of its borders. This is a parameter defining how much three-dimensional space a building contains, including all its parts, such as basements, floors and attics. The cubic capacity is measured by multiplying the outer surface of all floors of the building, including the basement and attic, by the height of the building. The height is be measured from the ground level to the highest point of the building, including elements such as roofs. Defining the building’s cubic capacity is important when planning the use of building materials, identifying energy needs for heating or cooling, as well as in the context of the impact of the building on the environment and landscape.
