What’s this Temporary Works Supervisor Course actually for?

Do I need to be a manager to take it?
No. You just need to be someone responsible for temporary works on site – supervisor, foreman, whoever. If you know your way around BS 5975, even a bit, that’s a bonus.
Is it CITB-approved?
Yeah, full CITB backing. It’s part of their Site Safety Plus range. The card you get after passing lasts five years.
Is there an online version?
Depends who’s running it. Some places still do in-person days. Others might offer it online over Zoom or similar. Same content either way.
How long does it take?
One full day. You’ll be done by the end of it, including the test.
What’s the test like?
Written questions. Not tricky if you’ve followed the session. You just need to get the main ideas – they’re not trying to catch you out.
How much is it?
Varies, really. Best to ask us. Especially if it’s for a group or your company wants to book a few people at once.
