What You’ll Learn on the CITB SSSTS Course Online
Our online SSSTS course covers the same syllabus as the in-person course, meaning you’ll learn about:
- The Health and Safety at Work Act.
- Your supervisory responsibilities under UK law.
- How to properly deliver toolbox talks and site inductions.
- How to promote safe behaviours amongst team members.
- Conducting risk assessments and method statements.
- Correctly using and maintaining PPE.
Once the learning aspect of the course is complete, you’ll take a short multiple-choice test. Pass this, and you’ll receive your CITB certificate, which is valid for 5 years.

Do I need any experience to take the SSSTS course online?
No experience is required to take the SSSTS online course. However, most of the students on this course will have already worked on a construction site.
Will I receive a certificate upon completing the course?
Yes, you will receive a certificate once you have completed this course. This CITB-accredited certificate will be valid for 5 years.
What should I do when my SSSTS certificate is about to expire?
If your certificate is about to expire and you want to keep your qualification, you will need to take an SSSTS refresher. After completing the refresher, your certificate will be valid for another 5 years. If your certificate expires, you’ll need to complete the entire SSSTS course again.
Is there a test at the end of the course?
Yes, there is a short multiple-choice test at the end of the course. You will need to pass this test to receive your SSSTS certificate.
How long does the SSSTS online course last?
The SSSTS online course spans 2 days. This is the same as the regular, in-person SSSTS course.
