Who Needs the SSSTS Refresher Course?
If you’ve got an SSSTS qualification and want to keep it valid, you will need to take an SSSTS refresher at some point. If you don’t and your qualification expires, you will no longer be able to say you have the necessary training and will need to retake the entire SSSTS course to regain your status.
However, you don’t have to wait until your qualification is about to expire to take this CITB SSSTS refresher course. Some people and organisations decide a refresher is needed much earlier, to ensure they are aware of the latest regulations and are working in the safest possible way.
Please note that the SSSTS course refresher is only available to those with a current SSSTS certificate. If you do not hold the certificate, you will need to take the full course instead. We offer an in-person SSSTS course and an SSSTS course online.
What Does the SSSTS Refresher Course Include?
The SSSTS refresher course goes over everything you learned during your original SSSTS training, plus more. This includes:
- How to keep yourself and other team members safe while on-site.

Once you have finished looking at all the modules, you will take a short multiple-choice test. Pass this test, and you will receive your new SSSTS certificate, valid for 5 years.

Is there SSSTS refresher training near me?
We conduct our SSSTS refresher course at our training centre in Wellingborough, Northamptonshire. However, if you can’t make it to our training centre, we also offer an SSSTS refresher course online that covers the same syllabus and leads to the same qualification.
Is there a test at the end of the SSSTS refresher training?
Yes, there is a short multiple-choice test at the end of the SSSTS refresher course. You must pass this test to receive your new SSSTS certificate.
