What This Course Covers
This first aid course provides a comprehensive overview of first aid for children. Some of the topics taught over the 2-day course include:
- Performing CPR on a baby or young child
- Correctly using an AED on a baby or young child
- Helping a choking child
- Correctly treating burns, cuts, and fractures
- Recognising and responding to seizures, asthma attacks, and meningitis
- Understanding how to treat allergic reactions and anaphylaxis
But we won’t just talk you through treated patients – we’ll also make sure you understand how to keep correct incident records. These proper records are required within childcare settings.
2-Day First Aid Course Format
You’ll take this course over two days, with the days generally spaced about a week apart. You can either attend in person or join a live stream, allowing you to learn about this aspect of first aid from the comfort of your own home.

Once the course is complete, you’ll receive your certificate, which is widely recognised in childcare businesses throughout the UK. This certificate will be valid for 3 years.
