Are you an experienced operator of Mobile Elevating Work Platforms (MEWPs) looking to enhance your skills and safety knowledge?
The IPAF PAL Plus course is your next step. Recognised worldwide, this advanced training caters to operators working in higher risk or challenging environments, providing an additional layer of expertise to the standard PAL operator qualification.
The PAL Plus course is an optional, one-day, category-specific training that goes beyond the basics. Operators who already have a valid PAL Card qualification in the appropriate category are eligible to participate in this course. Upon successful completion, you'll receive an added '+' on your PAL Card, signifying your ability to operate powered access equipment safely and efficiently under challenging conditions.
The PAL Plus course combines theory and practical elements, focusing on preventing accidents and understanding their causes. The theoretical part of the course encompasses the analysis of accidents, the selection of MEWPs, guidelines for inspections, and the awareness of hazards. The practical training includes exercises on large machines such as scissor lifts and booms, simulating real-world scenarios like working in confined overhead spaces and navigating challenging terrain.
Similar to the PAL operator certification, the PAL Plus certification is valid for a period of five years. For renewal, you need to have maintained your log books, with a total of 60 entries over five years, including at least 10 in the final year before expiration. If you hold a valid PAL Plus certification, you don't necessarily need a PAL operator certification in the same category. However, when you initially enroll in the PAL Plus course, you must possess a valid PAL operator certification.
Once you successfully complete the course, IPAF will digitally issue your PAL Plus qualifications to you through the IPAF ePAL app. This app, available on both Android and iOS smartphones, provides a handy method for maintaining a record of all your earned IPAF licenses and qualifications.
Whether you're an electrician, painter, decorator, cleaner, or any professional who needs to work at height, the PAL Plus course will equip you with the skills to use access equipment more effectively and safely. For employers, this training ensures that your platform operators work more efficiently and productively, fulfilling health and safety obligations and accident prevention regulations.
Elevate your MEWP operation skills with the IPAF PAL Plus course. The focus isn't solely on task completion; it's about ensuring safety, efficiency, and effectiveness in every job you undertake.
