Plant Machinery

Plant machinery is what does the heavy lifting on site – literally. It’s the diggers, dumpers, rollers, cranes, and all the other kit used to move stuff, lift stuff, and shape the ground. If there’s building going on, plant’s involved.

Every job’s different, so you’ve got machines for all sorts: excavators for digging, telehandlers for shifting pallets, road rollers for flattening, and concrete pumps for getting the mix where it needs to be. Some are general-use, others are built for one job and one job only.

You can’t just jump in and go. Most UK sites need operators to hold CPCS or NPORS cards, depending on the gear. It’s not just about driving – it’s about safety checks, load limits, knowing the ground, spotting issues before they become problems.

What’s great is the path this opens up. Start with one machine, add more tickets, gain experience, and you’re set. Plenty of operators go on to run their own kit, or move into lift planning, supervision, or site logistics. It’s a proper trade with a future.

At Construction and Plant Training Services, we train people to handle plant the right way. No nonsense, no theory-only – just real hands-on training, real machines, and knowledge that sticks. Whether you’re new to the site or want to upgrade your ticket, we’ve got you covered.
