Enquire now360 excavators are a common sight on construction projects throughout the United Kingdom. But they can’t be operated by just anyone. Instead, they need the skilled hand of a highly trained team member. And to get this 360 excavator training, many people choose the NPORS N202 course, which we teach to students every year.
From essential checks before starting the excavator to digging safely, accurately, and in line with all stated goals, the excavator 360 course is a thorough rundown of everything you need to know to be a competent and, more importantly, safe operator. And on a personal level, your N202 ticket will grant you access to an entirely new aspect of the construction industry, with new opportunities for career progression.
Our team is ready and waiting to take you through all the ins and outs of NPORS N202 excavator training, so why not get in touch today? We’re available Monday to Friday by calling 0777 18 12 418, or you can drop us an email via office@cpts.uk.
Our NPORS digger training, which can last anything from 1-10 days, depending on experience, encompasses all the topics you must know to not only pass the post-course assessment, but to be a safe and skilled 360 operator.
Some of the core topics covered in the NPORS 360 course include:
| Route | Duration | Who It’s For |
|---|---|---|
| Novice | Up to 10 days | New operators |
| Experienced / Refresher | 1–2 days | Skilled workers updating knowledge |
| Assessment-only (EWT) | 1 day | Experienced operators needing certification |
We profile each learner to choose the best route, which saves time and cost.
There are three levels of NPORS digger training available, and the one you choose will depend on your experience and goals. These levels are:
In terms of training, the amount you need depends on your level of experience and the N202 course you’re studying. If you have no experience, you’ll likely need the full 10-day N202 course, while those with significant experience and not looking to get a Blue Card can take the assessment with minimal 360 excavator training.
We’ll work with you to decide which course is best for your circumstances and how long you’ll need to train before taking the N202 assessment.
We’re chosen by swathes of students throughout the year thanks to our stellar reputation in construction training. We’ve cultivated this reputation over many years by offering the highest-quality training, designed to teach more than is required to pass your assessment.
We’d be nothing without our team of teachers, who have huge experience in operating 360 excavators on sites throughout the UK and further afield. Their practical experience makes them a font of knowledge, able to answer questions on all aspects of 360 digger operation, both practical and theoretical.
Speaking of diggers, we make sure to keep a fully functioning, well-maintained 360 excavator on-site, allowing every one of our students to engage in practical learning that mimics the most common jobs found on construction sites. Our facilities are also top-notch, offering all the conveniences you need, plus we have free parking for students.
And then there’s the prices of our courses. You might think the NPORS N202 course will be expensive, but we do everything we can to make it financially accessible to everyone. This means keeping our prices lower than our competitors’ and guaranteeing to match any lower price you find. We also offer funding for those looking to spread the cost of digger training.
When these points are combined, it’s clear to see why we’re the number one choice for construction training throughout not only the Midlands, but the UK as a whole!
Both NPORS and CPCS qualifications are recognised nationally, but each has its own distinct advantages.
NPORS is seen as a more flexible option, as it allows for on-site testing, plus often has lower costs.
On the flip side, CPCS training is often preferred on larger construction sites with stricter requirements. We can help you decide which of the two qualification types is best for you.
If you’re looking to gain your NPORS digger ticket – which can lead to various job opportunities – we offer some of the best training in the UK. From initial checks to operational skills, you’ll learn everything you need to know to be a safe and competent 360 excavator operator.
To book your place on one of our NPORS 360 excavator courses, or any of our other courses, please call or email a member of our team today. You can call us on 0777 18 12 418 or send us an email via office@cpts.uk.
Your NPORS digger ticket can carry the CSCS logo if you meet the required criteria. To apply for a CSCS-logoed NPORS card, you will usually need to provide proof of a valid CITB Health, Safety and Environment test, or an approved alternative, completed within the required timeframe. A CSCS-logoed NPORS excavator card can be useful for operators who need access to construction sites across the UK.
Yes. After successfully completing your NPORS N202 Excavator 360 training and assessment, you can receive an NPORS Operator Card for the 360 excavator category. The type of card issued will depend on the course route you take, your current qualifications, and whether you require a CSCS-logoed NPORS card. Successful candidates can also be recorded on the NPORS database.
The validity depends on the NPORS card route. The Red Trained Operator Card is normally valid for 2 years. Once you complete the relevant NVQ, you can progress to the Blue Competent Operator Card, which is usually valid for 5 years. Traditional NPORS card routes may differ, so we can advise you on the right renewal or progression route when you book.
Yes. Experienced 360 excavator operators may be able to take an assessment-only route. You will need to demonstrate a high level of practical skill and a strong understanding of excavator safety, pre-use checks, digging, trenching, grading, lifting within rated capacity, underground and overhead services, and site safety requirements. We can discuss your experience before booking and advise whether assessment-only is suitable.
The price of NPORS digger training depends on your experience level, the course route, number of candidates, location, and whether the training is delivered at our centre or on your site. Assessment-only routes are usually shorter than full novice training. Finance options may also be available, subject to status and approval. Contact us for a tailored quote based on your exact NPORS N202 training requirements.

However, candidates must have a suitable level of spoken and written English to understand instructions, safety information, and assessment requirements. You should also bring suitable PPE, including safety boots, hard hat, gloves, and hi-vis clothing, unless your employer or training arrangement provides these.
