S001 Safety Awareness Course

NPORS S001 Safety Awareness Course

Starting out on site can feel daunting. Our NPORS S001 Safety Awareness Course gives you the know-how to stay safe and work with confidence from day one. It’s clear, practical and designed for people who want to get it right.

What this course covers

We’ll walk you through the basics of staying safe on a busy construction site. You’ll look at risk assessments, method statements, fire safety, manual handling and site traffic rules. We also talk about COSHH, PPE, reporting unsafe acts and what to do in an emergency. By the end, you’ll know how to spot hazards early and stop accidents before they happen.

Who it’s for

If you’re new to construction, this course is for you. It’s ideal for labourers, plant operators and anyone who wants to apply for the CSCS Green Labourer Card. Even experienced workers often join us to refresh their safety knowledge – it’s a solid foundation for everyone.

How training works

We keep things simple. You’ll join interactive sessions led by trainers who’ve spent years on site themselves. There’s plenty of real examples, group chats and short tasks to keep it engaging. At the end, you’ll complete a short multiple-choice test to show what you’ve learned.

Certification & CSCS Green Card

Once you pass, you’ll get an NPORS S001 certificate that lasts for five years. Combine this with the CITB Health, Safety & Environment Operatives Test and you can apply for your CSCS Green Labourer Card. We’ll guide you through the whole process so nothing slows you down.

Entry requirements

You’ll need photo ID and a good level of English to take part. If you’re aiming for the CSCS Green Card, make sure your CITB HS&E Operatives Test is valid (taken within the last two years).

Delivery & locations

We run this training right across the UK. You can come to our Wellingborough training centre or we can visit your site.
